Edem was looking down at his textbook, concentrating, trying to find an appropriate spell to practice on. Seeing that the professor had referred to an older girl who levitated her quill, he was scanning through the page desperate to find out about the trick. Then suddenly his quill started floating.. "Whoa, hey," he got up from his seat, grabbing the quill and sat back down, putting the quill back on his desk. He looked at Chelle with a puzzled look, then to his textbook.
What did she just say? Ah-see-ow? He didn't at all intend to speak since it's in the rules that they were not to speak during classes. He didn't want to lose the precious house points. Instead he returned to scanning his textbook for a spell that sounded similar.
Well, that went pretty well, thought Chelle.
Poor Edem, he must have been puzzled. Well served him right!
Chelle was pretty angry at Edem since that incident at the owlery. She had only tried to defend him, what if she was a girl? Though Edem didn't say so, but Chelle was sure Edem was not comfortable having a girl defend him in such a situation.
Chelle bit her lip hard to stop herself from laughing, but couldn't help letting out a small giggle. Hoping Professor Ashby hadn't heard her,
or even if he did, he didn't mind, Chelle went back to studying from her textbook.
