Rayedem turned his head to the girl, who had finally spoke up. Whew, at least someone's on his side. But a girl! He didn't like this. Boys shouldn't get help from girls--at least that's what he thought. "It's okay Chelle," he said, "er.. It's my problem." And of course the owl would come back, but the question is, when? He tried not to think about that.

Chelle turned red at Edem's comment. She was furious with herself. Why did she have to interrupt in the first place? It wasn't even her fault, it was his fault so she should have left him to deal with it. At least, that's what Edem wanted. `Right...it's your problem. Sorry, I didn't mean to interfere!' Chelle said sarcastically. She sensed that Edem only had a problem because a girl tried to defend him. Well, I shouldn't have. I really don't understand what's wrong with having girls defend boys. It was a really lame stereotype. But if that's what he wants then be it. `I guess I should just let you handle it yourself. Looks like you don't need help,' Chelle said and walked away from the owlery indignantly. `Only until a boy comes along!' she muttered under her breath, wondering if Edem had heard her.
