"Mes amis," he said softly, smiling gently, but not fully. "I apologize...this conference appears to not have gone as well as I hoped...I am new to this...delegating, so please, forgive me." Another sigh and weary smile, he organized the papers on the table. "You all may leave...except for the division heads. May I speak with you three for a few minutes more?"
Rinatta still wished that she hadn't been late.
'I would've liked to see more of what my new co-workers are like, especially my department head.',she thought to herself. She didn't think he did too bad it was his first time and she felt guilty about not being there for the whole thing.
"Sir I may not have been here for it all, for which I am terribly sorry and I apologize,but I don't think you did badly at all. Debating often brings you closer to your peers and lets you understand them better than simply socializing. You made us all think and that is always a good thing in my opinion.",she said gently with a hint of her accent showing.She then said with a little color to her high-boned cheeks,
"I apologize Sir". She then left obediently with a bow and headed towards the break room.
