CAKE!
Jake's face brightened consderably as he was handed a slice of cake, though he was somewhat confused. Hadn't she distinctly said no more cake for him? Not that he was complaining.
After quickly noting down the homework, Jake devoured the cake as quickly as was humanly possible (using the fork). It wasn't until he felt the aftertaste and the lack of a hyper rush that he realised it was missing the sugar. Running his tongue around his mouth for a moment and concluded that it was nothing like the other one, but it did the trick. He was feeling better now.
Offering Lupa a wide smile, Jake grabbed his things when she said 'Class dismissed' and stood to leave, still keen to leave the room where there had been so much conflict.
