"Mes amis," he said softly, smiling gently, but not fully. "I apologize...this conference appears to not have gone as well as I hoped...I am new to this...delegating, so please, forgive me." Another sigh and weary smile, he organized the papers on the table. "You all may leave...except for the division heads. May I speak with you three for a few minutes more?"
"Don't be so hard on yourself," said Violet. "None of the arguing was your fault anyway. There are bound to be some conflicting opinions within the department, and when they meet, an argument is inevitable." She drained the rest of her cocoa. So good...but now gone. So sad. Violet nodded at Chad's request to stay back a couple of minutes and leaned back in her chair.
