1) Go to the library and research one of the stories we talked about in class, in which somebody or something turns to stone. Write a brief (2 or 3 sentences is fine, but longer will be accepted) analysis of the story. Be sure to include the story’s place of origin, who or what turned into stone, who or what caused them to turn into stone, and what type of stone (if specified).
2) You've learned how to turn objects into stone. With more practice, you will eventually be able to turn whatever you want into stone. What would you turn to stone, and why?

Homework will be worth 10 points. Due two weeks from today (from date and time of posting). Be sure to owl (PM) the homework to Professor Svensson and include your member ID number, our house, and the name of the assignment (Transfiguration Homework 1).
