"The gift is very thoughtful. I am certain Alessia will love it."
He sipped his tea again. "Which subjects do you anticipate you will have to work most in, if you wish to achieve your stated goal?"
Siiigh.
Funny thing was that her father and Uncle, the two who heaped such expectations on her, actually
were Slytherins once upon a time.
"I'll try. I'll study as much as possible." Cela got the knots on the pouch undone and pulled out a
pendant, holding it up to the light so Kazimeriz could look at it.
"I used six different runes, sir. Ansuz, Nauthiz and Laguz for Professor Lupa's initials; for insight, blessings, self-reliance, determination and healing. Then Eihwaz, Algiz and Kenaz for strength, endurance, protection, transformation and regeneration." Cela traced each rune with her little finger, some of them echoed the others in meanings and even with their presence.
"I used Chrysoprase for the stone, to speed healing and to help with conscious knowledge. And its green of course, and set in silver for the whole Slytherin thing. And I invoked all the runes and stuff, did the blessings like Professor Lupa taught us."
Clearly, this had taken some time and Cela's expression was earnest as she explained her gift.
"Which subjects? Well... Potions and Astronomy sir. I expect I'll get an OWL for Arithmancy, but it might take a bit of work to make it an O grade. The others will be easy."
Astronomy.
"It would have been hard enough to get a good enough grade in Astronomy..."
