Daphne waited for a break in the chatter before speaking. She was woefully uninformed on what was going on in the wizarding world. But she decided to swallow her pride and ask a question.

She almost raised her hand again, but quickly remembered to keep it planted firmly on the table. "So..." she interjected in the softest voice possible. "The Quidditch world cup's going to be in Britain, or are they just trying to get it here?" The moment she asked the question, she realised it might have been better to pose such a query to someone in the Ministry. If she hadn't been wearing blush, it would be been obvious that her cheeks turned slightly pink, as often happened when the fair skinned girl became embarrassed.
