This was terribly degrading.

Apparently this whole 'sorting' business required putting on a tatty, old hat and sitting on a stool in front of the entire school. He had to wear that dreadful out-dated hat which had no doubt gone out of fashion in the early 1400's in front of everyone. And just to make things worse..? They were waiting with a load of eleven year olds.

This stupid bloody school.

Jaw set unhappily, Woodson waited in line with his brother.. watching as various students were 'sorted.' He noted with mild interest that LouAnn Purple was sorted into Gryffindor house and watched her move off to one of the long tables.

It only just hit him then. What would happen if he and Sebastian were put into different houses? Surely being twins there wasn't a chance of that happening... right?

If they were separated, he was going home. That was final. He could only survive this if he had his brother by his side.

Upon hearing his name being called, Woodson Whitcomb stepped forward, shoulders squared proudly. His head was going to need de-contaminating after putting this hat on. How vile. Perching on the stool, the fifteen year old relcutantly placed the so called hat atop his head.

Woodson gound his teeth impatiently, willing himself not to simply pull the hat from his and stamp on it. It had called him smart, which yes, he was. But he didn't appreciate being a muggleborn thank you very much. Such a title sounded improper. Not important. Which he was.

Aspiratons to achieve? Ambition? Self-preservation? These magic tricks were unnerving. A ruddy hat was reading his mind and spookily reading it correctly. Woodson did have ambition.. he WAS proud. Proud to be great.

Slytherin? Heh. Woodson was just glad to get the foul, talking hat from his head. Yes, swiping the ragged fabric from his head and swiftly getting to his feet, the newly sorted Slytherin moved gracefuly for his house table..

..to pray Bastian got the same house.
