It was beautiful until they looked around them. The eyes of the returning students studied all of them, so young and fresh to the Hogwarts way of life.
They were soon stopped in a line. They were to be sorted by the legendary Sorting Hat. As each first year climbed and clambered upon the stool and the hat settled on their head, it shouted one of the four houses.
As her turn approached, she felt a little nervous."Tori Hardene." Her name was being called.It was now her turn to sit on the stool. She could feel the watchful eyes of the other students. Tori sat on the stool and she felt the hat placed on her head of short brown curly hair. She heard nothing for a while. Then, "I see a lot of potential in a lot of things. A lot of determination. You seem very protective of those close to you. I believe, little one, that you belong in,GRYFFINDOR!"
Tori soon hopped off the stool and quickly walked down, with an ear to ear grin, to the Gryffindor Table to join the rest of her house mates. Three of her friends were placed in Ravenclaw. "Who is joining me here?" she wondered.
