I'm so glad you're here! she said and leaned backwards to see Natka's face. I've missed you this summer, I wish we could have hung out some. She studied the girl for a sec and smiled wider. You've grown some, haven't you? Don't tell me I'm getting smaller, that would be depressing. She winked. I don't think I've grown anything during the last year...

With a sigh she sat down and pulled Natka with her down on the seats opposite to the girl with glasses who she didn't yet know very well, Chris and Jenn. Facing Natka she said Yeah you read me like an open book. I've been so busy this summer and even though I'm excited about going back I feel so low. My parents got divorced after fighting for so long.. And since I'm the only kid still at home...

She paused, wondering if she'd told Natka about John, and decided to add Y'know after John ran away from home last spring.. She rolled her eyes, her brother had turned from sweetest ever to a criminal rebel. And he was just turning 17! Anyway, so I've been creating a second home which is a pain, not at all as fun as you might think. She shuddered and smiled a bit. So, enough of misery. How's your summer been sweetie? Last time she'd seen her friend she had been very much in love... Wondering what might have happened during the summer, she waited patiently to hear about it.
Natka listened to Lizzie's story, feeling strongly for her friend. It must have been horrible, having her parents divorce like that... and John running away? That really didn't sound like the boy she'd heard about from Lizzie in the previous years. People changed, though, Natka knew that.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Lizzie, I really am," she said, giving her friend's hand a squeeze. "As for me... not much happened this summer, I spent a lot of time in Russia talking to my cousin, she just discovered she was a wtich last year and so she was full of curiosity about the magical world. Vera, you know? I think I might have menitoned her to you... she'd going to start school this year, but back in Russia, somewhere in St. Petersburg I think."

Hmm, and what could she tell Lizzie about Clark? She didn't even know if they were still together. Last time she'd seen him was before the end of the year, she barely had a chance to say goodbye to him on the train ride back home.

"Clark and I are... well, let's just say we weren't really in close contact this summer, I don't know where we stand. I was hoping to run into him somewhere here, but I haven't seen him yet," she admitted quietly, makking sure no one els ein the compartment overheard. This was her personal life, after all, and she wasn't up to sharing it with a bunch of strangers, no matter how friendly they might have looked.

Natka wasn't really that trusting.
