I don't really care where my shoes or clothes come from, usually they all end p the same, dirty and ruined." he replied, listening to her next words. "My mum has a blue pair of heels, her most prized possession." he joked, a slight grin forming on his face as he gently petted his pygmy puff. Looking for at the adorable purple ball of fur he couldn't fathom a name that would fit him. He had his own personality, "I don't know." he muttered softly, now gazing at the interesting creature. "I feel... excited, and a bit giddy." he replied finally, his light blue eyes darkening slightly. Thinking was frustrating. "I was thinking either Zazu or Zorba." he finally stated frowning.
His sense of unease was slowly coming back to him; something he thought he had gotten rid of during his second year. There had been no times for being shy, what with all the action. It was still unbelievable that he had gotten though that unscathed, except for the oddly reoccurring dream he kept having. He didn't want to think about that, so instead he glanced up at Adrienne and studied her. Now that he was actually seeing her, he was now sure that he knew her from somewhere, but the thought wouldn't finish itself, instead running through his mind over and over like a nick in a record. He became s lost in thought that for a moment he had forgotten he had asked if she had wanted t see his tarantula and blinked, straightening up. "Ok." he replied, putting his hand in his pocket for the clear case he kept Goldie in. Slowly he lifted it into his hand, keeping the lid on just in case Goldie decided to jump out and roam. Zima tilted her head, watching rather sleepily as William held up the clear cage, allowing Arienna to see the medium sized light brown with black spotted tarantula sitting on a log. "Looks like she's just sitting there, it's not hibernation time yet." he stated glancing into the cage curiously.
Goldie remained on the small branch, until William accidentally jiggled the cage. It was than she decided to move, stepping once off the branch with her long leg. It seemed like she was looking everywhere; even though it was clear she was focused on her new surroundings. Smirking at her, he unhooked the lid of the cage a bit t give her a bit f air before looking back up at Adrienne before he nodded, his face paler than normal; though not from fright but from the thought of someone actually doing that in the bright day light for all to see. It was inconceivable! He didn't want to go int any details, or assumptions since he didn't really know much anyway - not that he wasn't curious or anything. The rumors he had heard were enough to chill him to his core, but he knew better than t listen to rumors.
Thankfully though, she decided to change the topic, allowing the atmosphere to unwind and calm down a bit. It wasn't fun to have their first day at school morbid and depressing. What did he think would happen, well knowing Hogwarts; anything. "Well, I hope nothing bad, for once I'd like to really enjoy my time at school instead of worrying that merpeople or ghosts are going to flood the school and destroy everything." He replied finally, his eyes never leaving the far wall. Unbeknowest to them both, Goldie had managed to climb up onto the top of her cage, poking her long legs through the cage and poking her head out. With a small push she poked her body out and crawled onto William's leg. As William said he'd merely take her word for it that her experience buying her pygmy puffs had been weird, grinning back at her, Adrienne found herself laughing a little. "Probably a good idea." It seemed like he didn't quite uderstand why she would have had difficulty, and something told her he wouldn't understand even if she had explained. So it was easier to just keep her memory to herself for now, until she could find Chloe, since she knew her best friend would find the whole situation hilarious. And then probably ask which shoes she had been wearing. But then William had gone on to explain how he knew Dolce and Gabbana, and she found herself nodding. "Your mum has good taste." Not that D&G were her absolute favorite designers, but they were up there, at least in her personal collection. And then he added the detail of his mother's prized shoes, and she found herself smiling. "I tend to just prize my shoes in general." She glanced down at her boots, which of course were pristine, but considering their cost, they should be. Even if she hadn't loved them as much as she did. Appearances were everything, right? Or at least a really important part. Along with friends, family, books . . . She tilted her head to one side slightly as he started thinking aloud about his pygmy puff. "Don't overwork your brain or anything," she warned. Granted, the pygmy puff needed an identity, but it wasn't worth expedning that much energy. But then he said two names, and she grinned. "You really like names starting with Z." Considering she already knew his owl's name was Zima. Of course, barring her pygmy puffs' names, some people could say the same if they knew her owl's and colt's names, considering they both started with R. But she didn't think it was the same, since she hadn't actually named Renny.
And then there was another awkward silence, and she found herself studying him. That was an interesting task, since she was still being vigilant about not using her ability, but she found she still could tell a few things about him. Like, that something was running through his head, puzzling him. She smiled again, however, as he blinked in response to her agreement to seeing his tarantula. "Did I wake you up?," she teased lightly, before she watched as he withdrew a case from his pocket. The tarantula didn't look that creepy, really, which she had to admit surprised her a little since she really wasn't the biggest fan of spiders. Especially large ones. But his tarantula almost looked like a stuffed animal or something, sitting there on the branch. Maybe it was the furriness. "How can you tell?," she asked as he contemplatively said the spider wasn't hibernating. It certainly wasn't moving a lot. Until the little terrarium or whatever got jiggled, and she watched in fascination as the tarantula moved. "She's so . . . I don't know, elegant or something."
And then the discussion of curses being used in Diagon Alley had continued, and her brief intrigue about the spider faded. It was hard not thinking about people being outright killed, even not really knowing what had happened. Hopefully it wasn't anyone I knew, she thought, acknowledging to herself how odd that statement sounded. It wasn't like she wanted a complete stranger to have been the unfortunate victim, but it was hard enough starting the term with werewolf furor. And now worry over how a person could use an Unforgiveable in public without apparently being found, and how she could have been there and not heard anything about it. Mourning would make it that much more difficult. And she wasn't about to make things more awkward by trying to get more details, especially since it didn't seem like Wiliam knew much more.
He certainly seemed happy to answer her sad attempt at changing the subject. She nodded again, before really thinking about last term and everything that had happened. Which of course made her think about those flyers out in the corridor. "Yeah. I think we all hope for that," she said, before a faint grin appeared on her face. "You know, I'd think after that deluge last term, even Myrtle would think twice about causing more floods." The ghost seemed like a safe topic. Nothing to do with curses or werewolves or any of that other stuff. But then, glancing at the younger boy again, she saw his tarantula poke her way out of the case, and her eyes widened a little. Big furry spiders in cases was one thing, running around loose was an entirely different matter. "Um, I think your spiders getting a little too into exploring," she hesitatingly said, wondering if he even had noticed. The way he lept staring at the wall made her think he hadn't.
