"Sorry. It's just this is not the way I pictured going to Hogwarts would be like. The train ride is falling a little short of expectations, is all." She attempted a little smile back, before she heard another girl speak to the boy.
"Oh, ew." She made a little gagging noise. That was not something she needed to hear. Older people confused her. The girl waved at her and she half-waved back. She waited for the boy to respond before walking down the corridor, looking for a compartment.
Ellie playfully bounded down the train, full of energy and excitement. This was perhaps the longest she'd ever been indoors without being asleep, and she didn't much like it. She was restless, itching to run through pastures and chase farm animals. Being aboard a locomotive felt so unnatural.
Her blond hair swung in a ponytail and her fingertips glided across the wooden dividers between compartments. She closed her eyes and imagined running through her corn fields. Unfortunately she lost touch with her actual surroundings and run full speed into a girl, both of them tumbling onto the floor.
