If you overlooked the fact that her brooding father fumed his way through summer, then it had not been entirely bad. "I'm glad it was pleasant for you in spite of ... the crying and all that."

Her nose wrinkled lightly.
Thankful for Willow's knowledge, Daphne smiled and nodded at her. Ah, see? This is why it was nice being acquainted with older student. They knew things. They knew people.

All sorts of things and people that Daphne Hopton wanted to know herself.

"It was as pleasant as spending summers at home are," announced the hazel eyed young lady with a secretive smile. It was safe to assume everyone enjoyed Hogwarts more than they did their homes.

Before Daphne could properly greet and converse with Mister Whitcomb someone else had entered the compartment.

So what?
Raising a brow at the blond, Daphne took a deep breath, which she held trapped in her chest before she--released in a derisive scoff. How. Rude.

The window seat?

"And it's a pleasure Daphne Hopton," the young Whitcomb turned his gaze back to the blonde girl. "Thank you for allowing me --

"I don't think anyone does, Mister Whitcomb," replied Daphne finally having torn her away from the nameless (and perhaps forever so) boy, who was, shamefully that is, his brother. "Especially in hot days."

Bad Blood, perhaps? Hmph.

The sound of a whooshing compartment door--their compartment door--opening caught Daphne's attention and she slipped the compact mirror back into her bag immediately to beam up at her darling friend.

"Celly!" exclaimed the blond, feeling extremely happy to see her friend despite having spent nearly the entire summer together. "You look precious!" As usual, thought the blond with a firm nod and patted the seat beside her. "Please sit with me! Please. Please."

Before that horrible boy did.
