At least she could deposit everything, even if she didn't stay in the compartment for long since she still hadn't found Chloe yet.

After passing several full compartments, or at least they were full enough she wasn't about to bother to ask if she and her menagerie could join them, she finally found a compartment that was empty. That surprised her, since an empty compartment after the train had already started moving was usually few and far between, but she took the miracle at face value. It was there, so she was taking it. Dragging her trunk inside, she left it on the floor, although she tried to push it as much out of the way as she could. She wasn't crazy enough to try and lift it into the rack while wearing her boots. Adrienne and broken heels did not go together. Placing the basket carefully on one of the seats, she let Rochester fly off her shoulder to perch on the back of another seat as she then collapsed onto the seat next to her pygmy puffs. If that flier out there had anything to say about things, it seemed the term was going to be quite eventful. But then, it seemed Hogwarts terms never went by without some sort of drama.

Leaning her head back on the seat, she closed her eyes for a second as she tried to clear her mind of everything since it was usually when she was distracted that she slipped up with her ability, then reopened them as she decided to let the softly humming furballs out of their carrier for a while. She knew Rochester wouldn't do anything. Seconds after lifting them out to place them on the seat, she turned as the door to the compartment opened, blue eyes taking in the appearance of a younger boy with an owl. Smiling as he spoke, she gestured for him to come in. "Sure. I totally agree with you, anyway. Pretty much all the other compartments I saw were full too." And she certainly wasn't about to stay in the corridor with all the fliers. And then hi sowl hooted, and she glanced upward at it for a second. What was that about?, she wondered, hoping her new pets were still going to be okay. It wasn't like their bright colors blended in with the upholstery or anything. But then the boy simply gave his owl an owl treat, apologizing to her, and she returned her gaze to him. "It's fine. I mean, as long as your owl doesn't have a taste for pygmy puffs or anything," she said, laughing a little as she tried to relax again. "Adrienne Mercer, sixth year Ravenclaw," she said then, introducing herself. She thought she recognized him as a fellow Ravie, but it wasn't like she had gotten around a lot during previous terms. She probably knew more Hufflepuffs, through Chloe and otherwise, than she knew her housemates. Other than Mariel, and she hadn't really met the younger girl before this summer.

Setting his trunk down with a soft thump and stretching his hand out, William allowed a small brief smile to cross his face as he gt a better look at the girl. She was definitely older than he was but for the life of him he couldn't comprehend if they had met during his previous terms. No probably not he thought looking at her again before his eyes traveled to the pygmy puffs in which he grinned a bit. Such fascinating creatures he mused watching them for a moment before his light blue eyes traveled back up to her, nodding as she introduced herself. "William Cullack, third year Ravenclaw." he replied with a short nod of his head.

Lifting his trunk again he hefted it up onto the rack - secretly glad he had known better than to add his rock collection this time - William set out making sure his wand was in its holster before sitting down Zima fluttering his wings a bit as he got himself settled. "Don't worry about Zima, he's used to any creatures. He hasn't tried to eat my tarantula yet." he replied easily, patting the small plastic cage in his pocket, unsure if he should put it beside him on the seat. He didn't want his first conversation of the term to go horribly wrong just by having a brown and black full grown tarantula scaring her. That would be bad.

His mind was still on that flier he had dropped in the corridor outside, his brain still trying to comprehend how anyone would do that. As if it wouldn't he hard enough for those who had been involved, now they had that to deal with too. Wasn't it bad enough they they had to teach hundreds of students each term, now they had to deal with this too. He knew people could be filled with anger and frustration but that, that was something that nearly boggled his mind. Like how he was suddenly so good at Potions, hopefully that hadn't been a fluke he mused. Besides he wanted to forget the whole werewolf thing; it didn't matter to him either way. One of the professors could be a brain eating alien like he had seen on TV once and he'd still respect them.

But that was thought for another day. Now the only thing on his mind was food. Well that and anything else really. "So..." he paused thinking. What was there to talk about, besides the fliers in the hall? "Did you hear about what happened in Diagon Alley?" He asked, his voice oddly soft. It was a start he thought.
