Who would have guessed that one year later they would meet again under such circumstances. Rhea cleared her throat.
"I think I know where we met, though I must confess it was not the most pleasant of meetings. It was last year in the Courtyard.....I believe I might have walked in on a conversation between you and Irial and you didn't take well to that." She cleared her throat again and looked at the girl.
Rhea's gaze, shifted from the girl in the compartment to another girl who had walked in....
"I don't mind if you join us..come right in.." she looked at the girl sitting across from her wondering if she would mind an additional person in their compartment. Quote:

His name is Pharaoh." suddenly she realized that she was just talking away a bad nervous habit she had when she meet new people. Shut it! stop talking! she thought to herself. Quickly moving her cat to her lap she sat in the place her cat once occupied. Quote:

"Well I don't mind cats its fine. Pharoah is a nice name." Rhea reached over and petted her cat before she moved him.
"I'm Rhea, fifth year HufflePuff." She extended her hand to the girl for a handshake. A bit formal but oh well. Quote:

"I'm most likely going to be in Slytherin, that's what my parents were when they were here" shifting Pharaoh around in her lap she added "My last school did not have separate houses we had dorms but not main houses. Are the houses competitive amongst one another?" Suddenly Adelaide remembered reading in Hogwarts: A History that the houses Slytherin and Griffindor were most competitive. She hoped that the girl to her left , she was not certain that she said her name, was not a Griffindor as she may be insulted. Nancy resumed to glance at the other girl out of the corner of her eyes, searching for some kind of recognizable feature on her which would help her rembember exactly where they had met before.Withut much success, however. As the girl - she still didn't know her name - turned her head slightly to move her gaze out of the window Nancy shifted slightly in her seat until she had reached a comfortable position which would help her think. Something about a courtyard...
Then all of a sudden she felt the girl's eyes resting on her again, and when she quickly jerked her head into her direction she found herself gazing right into the girl's eyes. The way her eyebrows were risen resulted in Nancy's forehead to crease into a slight frown. What was this about? Trying hard to search for answert to that question in the girl's eyes the 15 year old just stared intently into them as if somehow she could see letters and words forming sentences in them. Which, of course, she couldn't.
Maybe she should inquire this Aparecium parchment for an answer as now she did have one again after her last one had gotten destroyed by the flood in the Common Room. Yay! She thought sarcastically, as somehow she would have chosen not to read the last few entries from last term. Although, then she would never have found out about it. Talking of which, where was Steven?!
The way the girl spoke up again pulled her out of that train of thought again, making her once again stare at the girl curiously. Irial?! Oh right, that Gryffindor boy. The one Steven had talked about. Right. It was then that the memory washed through her quite vividly. The Courtyard....her talking to Irial...then this girl - the one now sharing her compartment - rudely interrupting their conversation. Okay, she couldn't remember if the girl had rudely interrupted them but some part of her told her she had. Period. "Riiight..." Was all she could and wanted to say at the moment because luckily for her right at that moment a girl who looked about their age entered their compartment asking if she could sit with them. "Of course." Nancy muttered barely audible with a small smile for the girl while gesturing towards one of the empty seats. "No, I don't mind Pharao. In fact I do have a cat as well. I...uhm...left him at home, though, this term." She didn't go into detail on that one on purpose, as she did not want to go over the whole thing again. Next term she would buy something else at Diagon Alley.
Trying to get her mind off things - like the whole Irial/Courtyard/Rhea incident and above all the Steven/Anna thingy - Nancy forced a smile onto her lips which she directed at the new girl, Adelaide. "Nice to meet you. I'm Nancy. I'm a Fifth year too." She simply gave her a half-hearted wave, though, no outstretched hand as she certainly did not feel like it at the moment. Her attention was then caught by the girl mentioning probably being sorted into Slytherin. "That would be nice, Adelaide. I'm in Slytherin as well." Maybe they would see each other in the Common Room again. "Oh, where was your former school?" She inquired while leaning back once again in her seat, her blue eyes resting on Adelaide curiously. |
