Dexter started back in astonishment before leaning forward again. "Wow..." he murmurred before reaching out and poking its shell. The wings fluttered a little and he smiled. "I'm Dexter," he said, smiling widely, at once more ease with the girl. She seemed to emit a very frank and open air. He was usually so anxious that he could barely function, but it was nice to finally relax. "What house are you in?" He asked, staring at the turtle instead of the girl and poking its shell again. "And what's its name? I have a cat named Bront, he's right here." He pointed excitedly towards the plastic box. Bront just growled. "Who's your friend?" He asked, pointing at the boy.
Dexter saw the flier outside and read it over quickly before frowning. "Hmph," he scowled, "that's..." He shrugged before continuing, "My dad knew one once I think. And I'm sure he was fine." He crossed his arms over his chest and slouched a little in his chair.
