Slytherin Being Slytherin...

On the side of the Slytherin Pride Table, there is a note in Green Ink that said:

There are many misconceptions on what makes a Slytherin, a Slytherin. Many think it's being mean, getting in trouble and causing mayhem. To me being Slytherin is about being cunning, being the best, and having pride. Pride for who you are and pride in the things you do.

Slytherins share a lot in common with the characteristics of those in other houses. Slytherins can be just as loyal and hardworking as Hufflepuffs, just as intelligent and clever as Ravenclaws, and just as brave and bold as Gryffindors.

So, then what makes Slytherins unique? Many would say it is our ambition. We relentlessly strive to be our personal best. We are satisfied with nothing less than success and will use whatever resources we have to achieve our goals.

Ollivader of Ollivander's Wand Shop is famously quoted as saying, "....He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things – terrible, yes, but great." And History tells us the Sorting hat itself said to Harry Potter: "Not Slytherin, eh? - Are you sure? You could be great, you know, it's all here in your head, and Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness, no doubt about that."

Slytherin will help you to greatness, but only if you make the effort to make yourself great, through your own ambition and drive. Remember, being in Slytherin is an honor; Slytherins only accept the best! Now, tell me...

What does being Slytherin means to YOU?"
