George sighed in relief at Dumbledore's words and slid into a chair. The movement shifted his ribs, and he gave a sharp hiss in pain. "We wanted to check on the shop," he answered Dumbledore sheepishly. "Ginny and Harry wanted to go too, and we figured it would be safer for them to be with us then for them to try to go out on their own." He shook his head. He had to be responsible now, and he was doing a terrible job of it. "Why did she go to Hogwarts? Grimmauld Place is just as safe."
Malfoy started shifting in his sleep, mumbling low urgent words. Ginny moved quickly to his side and reached out a hand to soothe his face. She paused, her hand inches from his forehead. "He said he wasn't evil. Isn't he a Death Eater too?"
