When the curses started flying, Fred dove one direction....George went another. Fred crawled to a large trash bin, and squatted down behind it. It was a very compromising place to be sitting when curses were filling the street, but it was the only thing he could find. And for the time being it kept him shielded. He slid his body up just a bit so he get his eyes over the brim of the bin...he shot one stunning curse after the other, in the direction from which the one's being shot at him were coming from.
Fred's mind was racing, and though he was in the middle of a showdown in the street, all he could think about was Ginny and Hermione...and of course George. In his minute of pause though, one of the attackers blew the trash bin shield to pieces, and the curse going straight through and hitting him full in the stomach. He gasped for air, but Fred Weasley was no weakling. He rolled to his feet, and ran down the nearest alleyway...back around the street, and in the backdoor to his shop.
Feeling a lot like someone had just laid him down and ran over him, Fred collapsed when he got to Hermione, Harry and George's side. Not seeing Ginny he said, "If Ginny is ok....I'm going to kill her..." |
