Thanks. Yeah he is, I love him so much XD He is so cute!!

I knew Jason wasn't going to be happy with me, but by now he knew how I was. If I made a promise I would keep it, whether the promise broke another, but just for the sake of a life I would break it.

"Alex put the wand were you found it and Madison please comes here, the rest of you please rest, and don't cry." I looked at the youngest one of the group who was still next to me. "Nunually, everything is going to be okay, we will get through this." I gave her a smile and another big hug. She didn't smile back but at least gave me the tightest hug I had ever received.

"Okay, we leave tonight?"

"Maybe, Nunually I still don't know."

"Nightmare still goes on?"

With those words Nunually walked towards her bunk. I looked down and whispered "Yes, it does continue." Madison was patiently waiting for me to talk to her.

"You know you shouldn't be giving them hope if you don't have a plan."

"Why not?"

"Because in here it can be taken away easily, then they won't even believe in hope."

"I have learned two lessons in my life: first, there are no sufficient literary, psychological, or historical answers to human tragedy, only moral ones. Second, just as despair can come to one another only from other human beings, hope, too, can be given to one only by other human beings. Elise Wiesel said that once. I believe no matter how many times they run out of hope, someone else can bring it back. Equivalent exchange. Full circle."

"I hate it when you get like that Akari, I really do."

"I know and I'm sorry, but to make it simpler, they need hope to live on, Dorothy Thomson once said. Fear grows in darkness; if you think there's a bogeyman around, turn on the light."

The children at this point were listening to our conversations so many of them understood what I was talking about but the ones who didn't begin to freak out.

"The bogeyman is here? Is he going to take us?"

The children began to cry once more. "No, I was using a quote I mean I was just saying..." I looked at Madison who began to giggle. "I'll leave the candle on for tonight; no bogeyman will get you guys, now rest, or play."

"And no eavesdropping, leave Akari and I to talk."

"Yes Maddy."

Madison was looking at me and I looked away, there was something that made me uncomfortable around her, it might have been the fact that I was so self conscious about myself, I hadn't developed yet, but Madison had. I often wondered if Madison was lying about her age. It wouldn't be uncommon. Those children who looked younger than they were would lie to be here a bit longer.

"We really shouldn't do this" Madison looked at the children. "Why put their lives in danger? Here they can live..."

"You call this living, having fear with us everyday the sun goes down? Fearing that another day goes by and that we are one more day closer to getting killed or being abused by them?"

"I know but if they chose to give it up?"

"Give up what Madison? You know perfectly well that the wand just helps us direct out magic. Other than that we still have magic within us."

I bit my lip on the same place I always did.

"You don't understand Akari you never had parents..."

I froze and felt like something had stabbed me in the back. "Just because I'm not like you who had a family once before they died..."

"Isn't that why you ignore me, Jason, Alex, and Sebastian? Isn't that why you care more about Nunually and Whinry?"

"Were you going with that?"

"You refused to talk to anyone who had, had parents before they had arrived in the orphanage.”

“What if I did, that was then and this is now.”

“Don’t forget about us, take us all or take none!”

I looked at her. “You think I would leave you guys behind because I didn’t have parents, get real Madison does that matter any longer? None of us have parents anymore. Even the muggles gave up their children who had magic.”

“I want to know why you didn’t talk to us!”
I looked down. “You really want to know?”

“Yes.”

“Well when I first arrived in the orphanage there were some children who had parents, they always would cry for them thinking that they would come back for them, even though the children knew that they were dead. It would break my heart. So I decided to stay away from children who had grown up with parents. ”

“You’re lying!”

“Sadly, no. I’m just telling you the whole truth.”

“Tell me.”

“No.

“I said tell me god dang it!”

“I could feel the pain and it almost killed me…” Madison’s eyes widened and I finally looked her straight in the eyes.

“You’re and empath?”

I nodded. “Now can we drop the subject and focus?”
