Ginny rolled her eyes at Snape's antics. She had more than one older brother who had tried that trick out on her and she matched his pace easily. Once they stopped at the bottom of the hill, her snarky mood lifted and concern took its place. She didn't care about Malfoy, yet here she was feeling so worried about him. Ginny quickly knelt by his side, pressing her hand to his face. Cold and clammy. The fingers on her other hand sought his pulse. It was a bit slow, but he seemed to be okay. She looked up at Snape with relief written across her face.
Perhaps, if she was going to seek physical companionship, she ought to do so with a stranger rather than a colleague and a man she respected deeply, Tara mused. She was starting to care too much, as was evidenced by the pain that shot through her when Snape left, refusing to acknowledge her. She rubbed the bridge of her nose and wondered if it was too soon to send another letter to Dani. That always made her feel better. Tara exited Snape's quarters and climbed all the way up to her tower. It felt empty - another reason to stay away from Snape.
