Ginny stumbled along behind Dumbledore, trying to explain what had happened, and feeling very silly about her being on Diagon Alley at all. The Headmaster had come bursting out of his office and had barely cast a cursory glance at Ginny as he moved. She felt quite clearly that she wasn't getting her point across at all. Why were they stopping here? Ginny stopped talking and the door swung open, revealing Snape without a shirt on. Ginny hadn't ever even seen him without his billowing black robe, so this was QUITE a shock.
"Erm... professor," she greeted him politely before attempting to entreat them both. "I'm telling you, sir, that Harry and Fred and George are still back there. And Malfoy is lying by the front gate. He was BLEEDING, sir. I couldn't carry him..."
Tara was frustrated and disappointed. Did Snape always have this problem of Dumbledore bursting in on him at any time? How did the man sleep? She reminded herself that this was not her concern and continued straightening her clothes. It was good of Snape to keep Dumbledore from finding her in yet another compromising position. She took in the talk at the door with interest. Where were the Weasley twins and Potter?
