Visit To The Room Of Requirement


The trio and Ginny walked to the seventh floor and Ginny repeated the phrase again thrice and a door knob appeared and they entered the room. The entire room was lightened by the sunlight. They saw Sara sitting there her eyes closed and back up against the wall and knees drawn near her. Ginny looked at Harry and Hermione who were by her side and they nodded and squeezed her shoulder and walked ahead. Ginny walked up to Sara and placed her hand on her shoulder and said softly, “Sara”
Sara opened her eyes slowly and saw a blurred vision of Ginny and her flaming red hair. She didn’t notice the trio behind. She pulled herself up properly and faced Ginny, “hey Ginny. Good morning. Sorry I couldn’t make it to the breakfast with you guys. Was Fiona hyper?” and Ginny nodded at the last question
“God, I will have to face her questions then, right?”
“yes” said Ginny quietly. Sara was trying to avoid Ginny talk about her friend and about last evening.
“how are you doing Sara?” asked Hermione from behind and came forward. Sara was surprised to see the trio.
“wow, you guys turned up. Ginny why didn’t you tell me first that they have come too,” she said and walked towards Harry and Ron.
“how are you guys doing with your jobs and Harry how is your training going on? Sorry I couldn’t write to anyone of you before,” said Sara trying to sound casual and not bring them to the last evening’s topic to discuss.
“we are doing fine Sara, how are you?” asked Harry repeating Hermione’s words. He saw Sara closely and saw tear streaks all over her cheeks and her eyes were puffy and red and her face was trying to hide her emotions and it was doing a pathetic job.
“I am…am alright,” said Sara not looking at anyone. Ginny placed her hand on her shoulder from behind
“we are sorry about your friend,” said Hermione coming forward
“um…thanks…but its…its…I cant even say its alright. I don’t know what to say,” said Sara her throat chocking again but her tears didn’t fall. It was like her eyes were dried of the tears.
“its, its just that somewhere back in my mind and heart all this time I had a feeling that I will see him again and he will come back with me back but, no. It had to be that he had to loose his life over some stupid duel when he could survive the deadly nights in the forest in foreign lands during the war time,” she said in a chocked voice and sat down heavily on the chair at the head of the long study table. Hermione went and sat next to her and Harry went and sat on the other hand while Ginny stood near Sara with her hand on her shoulder. Ron went quietly and sat down next to Hermione.
“you know all this while I used to feel that he is there in Duff Town and even if I have not seen him for almost months now I used to feel his presence but now…now there’s some kind of empty space in my subconscious mind and there is this kind of feeling that I will never ever would be able to see him again. You know in the beginning when I first came to Hogsmeade I still had hope to find him but know that hope has vanished. I some how feel so empty. It was for him that I have come so far. It was for him that I joined Hogwarts. Now I feel what am I going to do over here? I feel that there is nothing more for me to do here,”
“Sara, you cant leave us,” said Hermione putting her hand over Sara’s, “you’ll have to stay. This is really a bad time to make any decisions,” she said
“I know it, Hermione but I am just telling what I am feeling right now,” said Sara and Hermione went quiet. Sara sometimes could be very curt and few people may call it rude when she was upset or down without her realizing it.
“honestly I don’t know what to do next. I don’t even want to think about it…but…but this emptiness is going to take toll on me,”
“I came after him to fulfill my brother’s, our friend’s and Rahul’s girlfriend’s promise that I will bring him back,” she said. The friend and girl friend’s promise was understandable but why her brother’s promise which is what the trio and Ginny couldn’t understand. Sara however continued
“Karan and Rahul were really close. They became closer when Karan joined our school. Rahul was a teacher, an elder brother and a friend to him and their relations strengthened after my mum expired. Rahul took real care of him when my dad and I were trying to take care of the rest of things. I feel horrible. Never could I ever be able to fulfill any of my promises that I made to my brother as an elder sister is supposed to do. Now I look back on to the day when I promised him that I will go and get back Rahul, I guess that day itself Karan must have known that Rahul will never be coming back. He must have known quite long before I realize that I have never been able to fulfill the promises that I made to him”
“That may not be true, Sara. Don’t take everything on your self. It is just the fate that we can’t fight against when we can against the entire world,” said Ron who had been quiet for so long. Hermione and Harry looked up at him and gave a small nod of appreciation which he accepted by nodding. Sara looked at him for sometime and hung her head, “I don’t know how will I face my friends and my brother and most of all Rahul’s girlfriend. I wouldn’t want to live to face her,” she said and covered her face in her hands. The rest of them tried hard to make her feel alright. They took her to Ginny’s room for her to fresh up much to Sara’s resistance of using the head girl’s room. Later she along with Ginny and Hermione went to Harry and Ron’s guest room where she had little breakfast which they asked the house elves to provide with when the girls were in the heads dorm. It was afternoon when Dean came and knocked the door. Harry went and opened it
“hey there Harry, coming for lunch?” he asked
“um…we will be right there,” added Harry
“by the way I asked Professor McGonagall if we could sit at the Gryffindor table and she has allowed us,” he said
“I’ll be waiting,” he said and left
“thanks, we will be there in some time,” said Harry and went back to where everyone was sitting. After 15 minutes the trio and Ginny and Sara went for lunch together.
