This is hardly the first organisation he's contributed to, nor will it be the last, so the comment is out of context. Plus, I'd say that helping people with personal crises that might lead them to the point of suicide is a great thing to do. To each their own, however, but you can't hardly argue that Dan's picking and choosing when he's given so much money to a variety of causes over the years.
