Many years have passed and now,
The dust on fair moors settles slow;
But Hogwarts! Dream of victory!
You, gloss of sky! You, still our glow!

Born in the hands of magic strong,
You live where realms of glitter pool,
Hand-in-hand, thy pillars raised,
The founders of our noble school.

Brave Gryffindor, the valiant,
He in whose house reign tall and bold,
Bearers of the touch that marked,
His will of steel, his heart of gold.

Great Salazar, o Slytherin, hark!
Who stood for what he felt was right,
Ambitious; he, skilled with wand,
Both light in dark, and light in light!

Fair Rowena, that spark of love,
Whom gods of wisdom rise to hail,
The brightness! In whose house resides,
Intelligence, that knows no fail.

Kind Hufflepuff, my Helga sweet,
Who knew the worth of truest toil,
Kind, hard-working, loyal are,
The seeds now rising from her soil.

These founders four, these founders true,
Best of friends; with magic skilled,
Fashioned, with the noblest dreams,
A school where they great love instilled.

Their love enchants – a merry thing!
A moonlit song, a shining star;
Students of Hogwarts, come join hands,
To spread it here, and spread it far.
Enchant within, enchant without,
Hogwarts – our sure amidst the doubt.
