Welcome students, young and new
to the ancient Hogwarts School.
To those of you not yet aware,
there are four houses here.

Gryffindor, for those of nerve and daring;
Ravenclaw, for those of wit and thinking;
Hufflepuff, for those of loyalty and caring;
And Slytherin, for those of ambition and cunning.

Once, not too long back,
the houses were all divided.
But, I still retain the hope that they
will once again be reunited.

Do not fret and do not cry,
you have nothing to fear.
Soon, you shall join your house,
who shall be your family here.

However short this song has been,
I implore you not to worry,
For I shall Sort you well and good.
Tine grows short, so hurry!
