He nearly began to jump in happiness when she said that she'd happily be his girlfriend. However he contained himself and let his eyes express everything he was too proud too. After all doing a happy dance in front of people would be way embarrassing and do nothing for his reputation, for he somehow knew that if he did anything like that the muggle press would get a hold of it through some source or another.

The feel of lips pressing against his cheek broke him from his thoughts. Blinking a few times he looked down at Rachel in slight surprise that she had been bold enough to kiss him. Then again a lot of girls were bold enough to do that. Eyes darkening slightly Reid determined that he would have to put a stop to that once and for all. He couldn't have others do that when it could hurt Rachel. Plus he didn't want them to kiss him anyway. Which was another good reason to have Rachel come with him to either America or France.
Silence. . . What did that mean?! Did he like it? Did he hate it?! He wasn't saying anything! Frantically searching within his blue eyes for answers, she noticed that they had darkened just a tad.

!!!

He looked... determined. As if he had just made up his decision about something - but WHAT?! This was nerve-wracking and she didn't like it. Not one bit. Ugh...

Your friends after all and I suppose that it could be interesting to get to know you." Reid was trying to be friendly but finding it a tiny bit hard. He was so stressed recently but he never really let that show around Rachel, not wanting to bother her with inconsequential problems. However that stress was affecting his personality at the moment and he feared it would give Livvy a completely inaccurate opinion of him.

Turning back to Rachel he asked softly, "Would you like me to leave you alone with your friend. It seems like you two have a lot to talk about." he wanted to give her that option, even though he wanted to stay here with her he could see that her not telling Livvy about him would create some sort of strain on the two girl's friendship. And if Rachel seemed as if she was ignoring the girl or choosing him over her that could create a greater strain, something he didn't want to happen.
HE WAS TALKING!

Wait - but not to her. Bummer. Turning to face Livvy, Rachel blinked a couple of times as she realised that her friend was still there; but she was leaving. And Reid - being the perfect gentleman that he was - was telling her that she didn't have to.

Thing is... Rachel could talk to Livvy anytime - they were in the same house after all, and shared the same dormitory. While this past year they'd been VERY distant, if Rachel actually went looking for her she was sure that she'd find her. Reid on the other hand was a Slytherin, and so was in a completely different part of the castle most of the time.

As much as she honestly did love Livvy, she kind of wanted to stay here alone with Reid for a while. . . He was, after all, her BOYFRIEND.

"Reid, it's ok, I'll catch up with Livvy later," the fifth year turned to him again, shooting Livvy hints under her lashes. They had drifted, sure, but that didn't mean that Rachel had forgotten what each and every one of Liv's looks meant. And she dearly hoped that her best friend hadn't either because right now she was trying to communicate, "I'm sorry but LEAVE! I WILL catch up with you later, I promise..." Or something like that that could be conveyed with only a look.
