Kiri nearly swallowed her tongue as Professor Lupa let out an unearthly scream. The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end - partly because her simian ancestors had survived because they'd run from screams such as Professor Lupa's, but also because the woman's wail sounded as if she was in terrible, terrible pain. She was clutching her stomach pitifully.

Kiri's heart was beating very fast now. She bit down hard on her lip to stop herself from whimpering. Several of the other professors seemed uncomfortable as well. It looked as if this wasn't supposed to happen. She gripped the bench so tightly that her fingers turned white from the pressure.
