But no one was allowed to call it a boat, of course, although the giant lily was now moving of its own accord across the pond like a silent, steady tour boat.
It cruised right by the first few lilies that were opening and gently slowed down so the occupants of the ah, lily boat, could smell the light pineapple fragrance in the air. Bunbury almost giggled at Cameron sniffing like a bloodhound but then she remembered Ethan and all was frosty again.
"The corpse flower doesn't smell thaaaat bad," she muttered. Why did he always have to know everything about everything? "You can always take in the pineapple-y lily smell now and remember it for later, because the titan arum hasn't bloomed. Yet."
"Neither do slightly decomposed corpses I suppose." Ethan answered a little cautiously, swaying slightly with the gentle movement of the lily pad. He wasn't exactly brilliant and reading women unless it was in a duel and usually by that point the fact that they were women was no longer the most important consideration.
