"I'll be the judge of that," Caroline insisted. There IS no water. There IS no water.... That was actually easier to believe when she was in a Healer mindframe. "If I seal the wound, it'll just open, it's too deep. I'm going to make do if you don't mind. And it's going to hurt."
Conjuring several bandages and gauze, Caroline packed the wound as best she could, and then rigged a pressure dressing with the bandages, using her wand to coil them just tight enough around his shoulder, and knot themselves firmly.
"Best I can do right now," she told him. "Don't suppose I could convince you to sit the rest of this out?"
Yeah right.
Caroline didn't even WANT to be here, and she wasn't about to leave. Marcus didn't (likely) have any such phobias. And no concept of his own mortality.
He'd stay.
"CAAAAAAAARRRRRRRROOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIINNNNNN NEEEEE!!!" he yelled as she attended to the wound. "Merlin woman you could have given me a little more notice than that." Yeah he was such a girl at times. Marcus waited until she was finished and he turned around and faced her.
He shot her a look that clearly said 'I'm not going anywhere.' "Nope I am staying, the kids need some kind of direction anyway."
He moved through the water and he could see one of the Merpeople floating in the water. "Nice work. But don't get complacent there are more around here somewhere. Don't let them get through the door and don't provoke them." He pointed to his shoulder that now held a large bandage. "You see what happens when you do. Defend the door and just hold them off."
