Jack had been trying to escape the flooding Arithmancy room (and save all his precious OWL notes!) and, due to the fact that in insisted on charming the papers so they wouldn't get wet, he was a little late getting out of the room. As he trudged through the water, he spotted his fellow Captain up ahead, staring at something in horror.
"Paris, what's going on?" he asked, walking up to her. "What are you--EEEEEEEEEEK!" he cried, turning to see a full army of merpeople AND those foul grindylows trying to break into the Headmaster's office! Gasping in surprise, he hurried out of sight behind a nearby suit of armour.
"Whatdowedoooooo?" he whispered, hardly daring to move his lips. All he could focus on right now where their tridents--they looked SHARP.
