Cam glanced at his Potions Plan journal. Now looking at it from a view, it looked all... messy. Messy handwritings. Messy cross-outs... the professor would approve of this, right?! Oh he was worried the old man's eyes would find his writing illegible, but suuuuurely he would understand he was up in a hurry with the writing. He'd understand. Kazi was a nice old man.
Sometimes. He looked back at the cauldron and sighed. Still blood red.
It looked disgusting. Happy cheery potions weren't SUPPOSE to look disgusting. They were suppose to look all happy... and cheerful. NOT THIS. Maybe he'd done something wrong? Oh no... He looked back in his textbook. Bleh it didn't specify what color it would show up as.
Tortured him with worry, it did.
Next step.
"Leeeeett's seee." Mix all grounded ingredients. Ooooh. This was easy, right? Cam got all of the mortars with the crushed and grounded herbs and decided to use the mortar with the grounded alihotsy leaves to put all of 'em in. Slowly pouring the lovage, the sneezewort, and the sprig of peppermint with the alihotsy leaves, he got a pestle again and mixed the ingredients.
Mix the pixy stickssss, mix 'em up goooood. Random songs and chants filled his head.
After all the mixing was done, the result looked more like... a green-ish, yellow-ish... thing. Hmm. Well whatever, time to pour it in the cauldron. Going back to the cauldron, he slowly poured in the all of the content in the mortar and smiled. YAY. What he expected was the potion to turn either green or yellow, but instead... it turned darker.
Like. Whut. So dark it was either the DARKEST red evar or it was black. He didn't know. Hm. Maybe it was SUPPOSE to do that. Probably.
"Stir clockwise...ooh...FOR 10 MINUTES?" Cam's arm WAS gonna die. Stirring for 10 minutes non-stop was gonna be... oh if they had to amputate it off of him...
Cam started with the stirring, sighing every minute and now and then. His arms hurt. Was he a freak for doing all of this trouble just for another gold star? Hmm. He just thought gold stars looked cool above his head. It was like a crown. He felt like he was from ROOOYALTY.
Stir stir stirrrrrr. And then the 10th minute. YAY. So his arm went officially dead, yup, but at least it was done!
"Still blaaaccckk."
He re-read the instructions again. It wasn't like he did anything wrong... huh. Weeeeeeird. Maybe black was the new yellow/orange/any other bright happy looking colors? Eh probably.
"Hmm. I think I'm done." Wait. Nope. One last step. And it included stirring. If his hand had to be amputated... WELL IT WAS FOR THE GOOD OF THE GOLD STARS.
Says I hafta stop the fire and stir again.
Yay for no more fires! And he hadn't even BURNED himself. Cam smirked and proceeded to get rid of the flames, and then started stirring clockwise for about 3 minutes. Hohohoho. The black was turning lighter. OMG. Maybe it could turn into orange. It was nonetheless, his favorite color. Instead, it turned gray. Dark gray. IT LOOKED SO EMOTIONLESSSS. Cam looked back in the book he'd gotten from the shelves and read.
It said it was suppose to be light gray--the finish result. Maybe the additional ingredients made it darker? Errrrr. Cam read more and read that it'd only last for a week? A WEEEK? THAT'S IT? The professor did mention something about flobberworm mucus earlier. He sniffed at the cauldron. Smelled...INTENSE. Cam got to his Potions Plan journal and wrote the stuff down.

Type of Potion you are Making (choose ONE):
* Physically Altering (Simple Transfigurations ONLY: Do not attempt polyjuice, this class will not be open for 21 days!)
* Emotionally Altering
* Behaviorally Altering
Intent (what you think the potion you make should do): Based on the Tickling Tincture, it'll make the user laugh and feel all happy--and hyper, all at the same time!
AKA HAPPY-GO-LUCKY POTION
Ingredients:
Same Same&Additional ingredients used in Tickling Tincture:
• water (500 mL)
• ginger roots (cut; 10 slices 20 15 slices--JUST TO BOOOST UP THE HAPPINESS)
• Wartcap powder (1/8 teaspoon) DO NOT GET ON SKIN!!
• chicken feathers (5 down feathers)
• black pepper (ground; 1 teaspoons)
• alihotsy leaves (ground; 1 3 teaspoons--will cause slight hysteria, will be used to add in the HYYYPEERNESSS&excitement)
• lovage (ground; 1/2 teaspoon--will cause a bit recklessness, to add in with the hyper)
• sneezewort (ground; 1/2 teaspoon--will cause a bit recklessness, to add in with the hyper)
• sprig of peppermint
Process:
• Start grinding the pepper, alihotsy leaves, and lovage (seperately) Grind pepper, alihotsy leaves, and peppermint seperately. Grind lovage and sneezewort in one bowl. And slice ginger roots in 15 slices. *do not put TOO MUCH strength--(do not waste all of your energy grinding, will just waste time&energy)
Grinding with a pestle&mortar I found to be very helpful and effective though it requires a little bit of strength to grind it perfectly almost perfectly. Also found grinding counter-clockwise with the pestle to be helpful too, as it moves your hand outwards and you don't get all too cluttered up. Each took about 5-7 minutes, in total minutes, about 20-30 min.
• Cut up ginger roots in 15 slices *NEEDS to be cut evenly
Requires time&patience as well.
• Bring water to a boil *make sure ALL 500mL of water of it goes in the cauldron(will be base of potion)
After adding in the 500mL of water, I added in the fire and waited for it to bubble. Temperature--boiling point temperature.
• Add ginger and Wartcap powder, stir counterclockwise for 5 minutes *careful with Wartcap powder (although I don't know how it could be dangerous) Wear dragon-hide gloves
Saves more time if putting in 5 slices of ginger at a time. I made sure to be exact with the Wartcap powder, which if added too much, can do somethingsomething with your skin. Color slowly turned to red while stirring.
• Add chicken feathers and black pepper, stir clockwise for 2 minutes *have extra chicken feathers. They tend to fly away most of the times.
Added 5 chicken feathers and poured in black pepper. While stirring, color turned darker (blood red)
• Mix all grinded materials in one bowl and pour in cauldron. Stir clockwise for 10 minutes.
I mixed all of them with the mortar the alihotsy leaves were in. Grinded and crushed again for about 3-5 minutes or so until I poured 'em down the cauldron. Expected bright color to show up, though color only turned to black or the darkest red ever. Stirred for 10 minutes, color stayed the same.
• Remove from fire and stir clockwise for 3 minutes *always use dominant hand when stirring even if your hand's about to fall off
I got rid of the fire and stirred. Color turned brighter, by a TEENSYWEENSY bit. Current color is dark gray. Smells quite intense, a bit herb-y from the ingredients, spicy-ish even.
Side Notes:
• Will only last for a week (though could lengthen it up by using Flobberworm mucus)
Grabbing a phial, he used it to scoop up his potion and closed it.
"Done!" he said quite happily and then raised his hand up,
"Oooh professah, I'm done!" He placed the phial next to the cauldron and labeled it.
