Without waiting for a reply, Headmaster Bontecou soundlessly performed the charm that would lock the poor boy's tongue to the top of his mouth.
Try and block the Headmaster? NEVER! Jack would be too chicken to even dream of attempting such a thing. He stood there, bracing himself for the words to annouce the spell.

But instead, there came no words. He did it silently. EEEEP! Jack barely had a split second to panic as he saw the professor's wand move, and then, his tongue shot up and glued itself to the roof of his mouth.

It was definitely a very strange feeling, he concluded. His natural instinct was, of course, to move his tongue around, but there was no budging it. Obviously Bontecou knew what he had been doing (well DUH) and as he moved his tongue around more and more, the weirder it began to feel. And he panicked just a bit--it felt like his tongue was more easily swallowable this way.

"Ehhh urrrrrrunnneeeh!" he tried to speak and say "I surrendor" but, of course, it came out as a bunch of jibberish nonsense. Hopefully he'd get the gist of it!
