While the students enjoyed their goodies, Professor Shackleton made an announcement about the next, and final, lesson of the term. "OK class, so before I give you your homework and dismiss you, I'd like to share with you my thoughts on the next lesson. I would like to have two, maybe three, students conduct the teaching of our next lesson, with me of course here to clarify and answer any questions that you may have.
"The next lesson will be on the Rational Thought Number and Bridge Numbers. If there are students interested in teaching a component of the next lesson, please contact me as soon as possible with your ideas or an outline of a lesson plan for the piece you'd like to teach. Again, anyone interested can teach either the Rational Thought Number
or one or both of the Bridge Numbers. You are free to teach it pretty much however you'd like, within reason of course, as long as you inform me of how you plan to do so very early. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them now or find me later.
"And with that out of the way, here is your homework, due in one week's time." With a flourish of her wand, the following appeared on the board:

1. Design a birthday card for anyone of your choosing. The card must include some information specific to that person's Birth Day Number. Try to incorporate the information into either the design or a small poem inside the card. (5 points)
2. Calculate your own Maturity Number. Show all of your work in the calculations. (2 points)
3. Analyze your Maturity Number. What do you think this means for your midlife? Does the path you're on now seem like it may lead you to this Maturity Number? Or do you expect a drastic change must occur to make the Maturity Number be true for you in the future? (3 points)
