26. Quill
I presented her with a gift. She unwrapped it and looked puzzled.
“It’s beautiful Remus, but… what is it?”
“It’s called a fountain pen, it belonged to my grandmother. The ink goes inside, and you write with it just like a quill. They’re not that strange, Muggles have had them for about nine centuries.”
“Thanks Remus! It’s really lovely. It’s so beautiful” She hugged me and I returned the embrace, feeling the colour in my cheeks rise.
“Why have you given it to me though?”
“Umm, well I was getting fed up of having ink spilled all over my newspaper”
