As we
announced earlier, producer David Heyman would be making a guest appearance in Los Angeles today to discuss the Harry Potter series and much more.
SnitchSeeker was privileged enough not only to attend the group session, which lasted over an hour, but to also have a one-on-one sit-down chat with the producer, who gave a few details about Bill Weasley and Dolores Umbridge in
Deathly Hallows, Ron and Hermione's kiss, how Dumbledore's backstory will be explained, and much more.
We will have that interview up later today; for now, we will post a few snippets from the group question and answer session, which included an extra question from
Katiebell, who attended on behalf of the site.
Quote:
SnitchSeeker.com: Tom Felton mentioned his girlfriend Jade might play his wife in the epilogue. Did you cast her or the children of the trio yet?
David Heyman: I have no idea, no. Unfortunately we haven't yet cast that section. He may WANT to cast his girlfriend.
SnitchSeeker: Yes.
Heyman: He does?
SnitchSeeker: He REALLY does.
Heyman: Okay, good. Well, I'll keep that in mind ... Nobody's been cast yet for that part.
Some highlights from the mass interview session included:
• When asked if the adult actors will have more screen-time in
Deathly Hallows, he stated that they would certainly not in the first part as it is solely a road trip for Harry, Ron, and Hermione. On the second part, however, the adults will have bigger roles, but the focus will remain on the three leads; the adult characters will be featured according to their relation to the main three.
• On the
Harry Potter theme park, there will be: three rides; a perpetually snow-covered Hogsmeade with shops and restaurants; the Hogwarts Express to lead them into the park; and a sit-down journey through Hogwarts Castle.
• David spoke about the special collector's editions of the Harry Potter DVDs, most notably the extras, including audition tapes for Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint), and Hermione (Emma Watson), which will be released with
Sorcerer's Stone. He said he may put Evanna Lynch's audition for Luna Lovegood in the DVD set for
Order of the Phoenix; and Jessie Cave's improvised screen test with Rupert Grint in the Gryffindor common room for
Half-Blood Prince.
• When Dan, Rupert, and Emma were cast nine years ago, David vividly recalled how scared and nervous Dan was during the press conference, while Rupert was chatty and far more confident. He praised Rupert for his uniqueness and eccentric ways (pointing out his odd choice of purchases, including the ice cream van and hovercraft), and that he has remained unchanged, and very funny and sweet from the beginning until now.
• David also stated which Potter character he would chose to spend a day with, if he could. Want to guess?
We will have much more on David Heyman's interview, including our own private session with the producer, later in the day.
