"Really? Interesting. Has he approached you about career options yet?" Ethan glanced at the curtains, watching them change colour. Mood curtains. They opened and closed a few times before settling almost completely closed with just a crack of light visible through them, though the room wasn't at all dark.

"Wate... wh..." Ethan sat up a little and frowned, "What did Masterson do?" Had it been intentional? Why would anyone harm Annie's plants on purpose?

"Your office?" Zan stared. "Were you in there at the time? Are you okay? Did anyone get hurt? Did you get hurt? Are you okay?" He grabbed her hand and looked her over as if to check that she was intact and hadn't been drowned or something.

Of course he'd be concerned about the same thing happening to any of his friends.
