FOCUSING ON THE CUFFS NOW.
Celandine tipped her head to one side. "Do you think.... the jelly fingers jinx might work? Or... we could modify the sponge knees curse and give ourselves spongey knuckles." Quote:

This was just really ridiculous now.
Ditching the umbrella, Daphne dropped it where they stood and trudged behind Celandine, their handcuffs kept them attached, so she moved clumsily even as she joined Celandine underneath the enlarged desk. Blinking out at the snow, Miss Hopton shuddered. "What's next? Hail?" Or...a tornado.
"Do you want to try modifying the sponge knee curse for our knuckles?" stuttered Daphne, tucking her legs underneath her body for warmth as she sat on the cold (and wet) floor. "Unless..." Tapping the handcuffs cautiously, Daphne tried to spot any other booby traps.
It wouldn't do to cut off their circulation entirely. Tino was basking in the glory of his universal acceptance. Cela had put him in her grindylow drawing! Not Copernicus! And Plymouth had liked his drawing, too, and even reciprocated. Perhaps he'd been too hasty in judging Plymouth. The boy was obviously a genius.
After a few moments of bliss, Tino realized he was no longer basking in glory, but being drenched by rain and snow. What were they doing again? Oh, right! Getting more 'connected'. And who would he want to be more connected to than Celandine Toussaint and Daphne Hopton? After all, they were all bosom friends now. Daphne had expressed an obvious deep-seated friendship towards Tino back in the bamboo forest, and Cela, of course, was now entirely charmed by his blue glitter. Perhaps they also needed a man's protection from this weather. But which lovely lady would he choose?
Grabbing two sets of handcuffs, Tino decisively marched up the pair, and without so much as a how-do-you-do, he snapped one on each of the girls's free wrists and his own on the remaining links.
There! It was a perfect time to play 'ring the rosie'!
