Taking out a fresh piece of parchment from his bag, in which he had brought with him up to the area they were at now he dipped his quill into his ink and began writing notes about the rope and their mini victory.

When Corvoda brought the chain back William eyed it carefully as if waiting for any signs of weakness to jump out at him. Burning it with the Incindio spell was out there was no way the spell would be powerful enough and he wasn't about to mention it. He tried to think of other spells which would limit their danger. Reducto wouldn't do much he figured, probably just make their wrists sore. When he heard Corvoda speak about making it explode he blinked, "You mean like a Confringo spell or something similar?" He asked vaguely aware of how dangerous the Confringo spell was. "We could try lubricating our wrists but if we're thinking realistically then in real life if we're facing a Grindylow we wouldn't have time to lubricate ourselfs so I guess the latter is what we have to do." he said with a hint of nerves in his voice.

He turned back to his notes, making a note of what other spells could have worked for the ropes.
Cordova looked brightly at his partner and continued to think about their conversation and the safest resolution to removing the chain before actually tying each other together. "You're absolutely correct about a Grindylow's grasp and how even if we were extremely slippery, it wouldn't just slide off of our skin."

He stayed seated examining his partner's notes, looking over his own, and taking slight glances towards his Professor who roamed the room quietly smirking and giggling at others failed attempts. "I think," he started and stopped mid-sentence deciding that it's probably best to not go blabbering about all his ideas. "Even though it's not necessarily a defensive spell, Transfiguration and Charms could be useful," he said outwardly tapping his wand against his brain. "I thought about the vanishing spell and then again,” he said doubtfully, “making an object invisible doesn't mean that it is not tangible or loses it’s particle characteristics.”

“I have it,” he exclaimed as excitement took over his body and he leapt out of his chair. Completely embarrassed, he shook his robes, coughed awkwardly and leaned over his desk to examine the chain. “This chain is a metal,” he said as if it was the most profound statement ever made. “Basically,” he continued quickly hoping to revive himself of feeling like a total troll. “If we convert the metal bars, to stone, it should, hopefully,” he added “make the texture and matter less durable. Therefore using Relashio or Confrigo would and should do the trick.”

He looked at William and grabbed the chain. Cordova shifted his weight onto the table and peered over his notes to once again to assure himself that his assumptions were plausible. “Yup yup,” he smiled happily and looking back at William. “Transform the creature or target, and then puncture it or a certain part of it.” He wiggled the chains franticly and gazed back and forth from his partner to the dirty rustic chains held in his hand.
