Issy tottled into the classroom, glancing around. Nope. None of her friends had yet arrived. Boo. Instead, she scuttled off for a seat by the window. As she settled, she pulled her rucksack into her lap and withdrew her book and a scroll of parchment.

While waiting for class to begin, her eyes trailed to the door and watched the people trickling in.

Unfortunately, none would ever be Juni.
