Copernicus leaned forward to give her a light kiss, but he brought his thumb up to cross her lips, the tip settling against the cupid's bow of her upper lip. He kissed his thumb instead.

Celandine closed her eyes at the touch on her lips and let out a little sigh. "I do have an awful lot of homework to do." She ventured in a tone that made it clear she'd much prefer to stay right where she was. "I'm... glad you liked your birthday gift." She added before gently kissing his thumb and pulling away.
