"Sure." Vanessa nodded, as she pulled out a few coins from her pocket, so that she could pay for the fudge, whilst making a mental note to remember to watch Jake. Kayla watched as Vanessa, went off into la-la land and she wrinkled her nose. "Merlin, I hope that dreamy look on your face is not from thinking about Denton?" That was just...eww!!
"Thanks, I appreciate that" she said as she started to move towards the door. "I really should be heading home. I kind of left without saying anything." She bit her bottom lip, it hadn't been the smartest thing to do but when did Kayla ever think things through first before acting? The answer to that would be almost never.
As she reached the door she stopped and turned to Vanessa. "Oh you really need to light a fire underneath those Huffie's of yours. Last place..."Kayla shook her head as though she couldn't believe such a thing..."if you need to. Tell them I'll come back and raise hell if they don't start applying themselves." She gave Vanessa a smile and a wave. "It was nice meeting you Vanessa Corbette." Then she turned on her heel and walked out of the candy shop.
