"Thank you Professor." Vanessa nodded, glancing up at her favourite teacher, smiling a little.
Iliana took a few step closer and threw her arm over Vannie's shoulers. "Come on Vanessa, we've got a
PINK cat to find." She smiled, rolling her eyes playfully and pulling her along beside her.

Simone scrunched her eyebrows listening to the conversation going on between Professor Morgan and Kiri. She couldn't believe Jake would do such a thing. The poor kitty. Simone continued to look for evidence when she saw a clump of pink hair at the edge of the sandbox. "AUN-- PROFESSOR MORGAN! There's a clump of pink hair right over there!" She pointed excitedly.
Haha! Would she be referred to forevermore as 'Aun – Professor Morgan'? You had to love that girl.
Iliana quickly removed her arm from Vanessa's shoulders and crouched down by where Simone was pointing. Sure enough, there were several
PINK cat-like hairs lying atop the sand. And OH BOY, we're they
PINK! "Excellent Simone!" She exclaimed. Proof the cat had been here. It was proof of something else as well, but Ili would have plenty of time to deal with him when the time came.

"Y-you didn't know?" she asked, biting her lip. This was definitely not going according to plan. "I... Yes, it was Jake, Professor, but... please don't tell him I said that, he'll hate me for it." She looked down, pretending to search the ground for pink cat hairs. Jake was, while maybe not exactly popular, at least well-known. Kiri was neither. He'd have the upper hand, no problem.
She was very relieved when Simone caught up with them. A little surprised (but happily so) by the enthusiastic hug the girl bestowed on her, it was also a perfect excuse to break eye contact with Professor Morgan, at least for a little while. Kiri couldn't keep looking into a face that showed both shock and, if she read it correctly, a little disappointment.
"Its true. I had no idea." She admitted, nodding her head slowly. But hey, she knew now. And she was
going to find her friend's cat. "Oh Kiri, my lips are sealed. It will remain between you and me. You have my word." She said, reassuringly.
...
After two quick passes of the sandbox, the professor called everyone over to her. "Well, it seems Gingersnapple's no longer here. Follow me. We'll check the Bamboo Forest next." She instructed, heading off down the path.
