Hogwarts RPG Name: isabella Macmillan Sixth Year | Work Of Demelza...
It was the second Saturday of October and the tension in the Great Hall was like any other time when a quidditch match takes place. It was Gryffindor versus the Ravenclaw.
“Demelza have something,” said her boy friend
“I cant eat anything,” she said softly. Demelza’s debut as the captain got her on nerves and she was not doing a good job of hiding it. Out of nerves she almost tripped from the staircase of the girls’ dorm few days ago. Though she was not a nervous kind of a girl, Harry always thought her like another Ginny, always confident ready for some serious butt kicking but the responsibility of captain made her a tad bit nervous.
“Ginny,” said Sara, “you guys will do great,” she continued and poured some pumpkin juice in the goblet and buttered a toast and handed it to Ginny. Ginny who was her same partly anxious, partly excited state didn’t want to have anything in first place but as soon as Sara placed her breakfast in front of her she munched on without realizing it and Sara just shook her head smiling.
After half an hour all the students walked up to the quidditch pitch and took their seats. The Gryffindors were in their usual self of cheering and buoyant display of support for their players and dislike for their opponents. The Ravenclaws were no less in their spirit and enthusiasm, with slogans and cheering in loud voices trying to compete with the Gryffindor spectators and with blue flags covering up half of the other side of the stadium .Sara, Fiona sat down with Gryffindor scarves around them and flags in their hands. Derek too was in the team. He was the keeper.
At the blow of the whistle the game began. The quaffle was caught within the seconds of its release and the bludgers were beaten by the beaters furiously at the opponents. It was half an hour down the start of game and it was 30 to 10 in favor of Ravenclaw. Demelza was getting nervous and then she pulled herself up and then zoomed into the air tackled her opponent and taken her by surprise and ducked the bludgers and then threw the quaffle in the hoop and the whistle blew indicating increase in the points in favor of the lions. That charged up the Gryffindors and from then on Derek was on high alert and Jimmy and Ritchie were even more ferocious with their bats and Ginny continued to keep a hawk’s eye for the snitch. At half time it was 70 to 40 in favor of Gryffindors.
“Ginny any sign of snitch?” asked Demelza
“yes I almost got it before the whistle blew but missed it,” she said
“ok, that’s alright, beaters you better help Ginny up there for time being. We are in good position enough for huge margin. If Ginny gets the snitch we will be 180 points ahead and that is really good for the start of the season,” said Demelza
“so Ginny get the snitch mean while Reky you need to guard the hoops like your quidditch life depends on it,” said Demelza
“you are joking, right?” he said
“no”
“bloody hell, yes I will save the hoops,” he said
“good, Ginny 15 minutes you have to get hold of the snitch. In that 15 minutes we will do all we can to stop them from scoring a goal and nor will we score,” she said looking at her chasers and the keeper and they nodded, “after 15 minutes we will attack to increase our score. You have next 15 minutes to end the show,” said Demelza. Demelza was one person who would love the match to end quickly and dramatically. She always planned her game in such a way that before the half time they are in confident position to win. This kind of tactic had its own advantages and disadvantages. Firstly if they win they win with huge margin of points that they needn’t bother about their place in semi finals, but that would make her team place themselves in a fix with the time limit that she sets for her own players to end the game. The pressure for those 15 minutes on the players is tremendous. The keeper has to be a lion saving his den, the seeker needs to be a hawk and the chasers need to be cheetahs and the beaters need to be attacking bulls. After the 15 minutes the entire pressure falls on the rest of the team except the seeker as the others will be in constant pressure of increasing the points margin. As the whistle blew Sara saw the red robes flying against the gray sky once again. It was cloudy but didn’t look like it would rain. Sara silently observed her friends on the pitch. She followed them and their every move. She herself found the tension rising in the atmosphere as the players were playing hard. She realized that it was not only her but the others felt the same tension too. At one point there was dead silence in one part of the stadium. Those 15 minutes looked as if they were not going to end and then there was a loud and long whistle from below and out of sudden the farther end of the Gryffindor stands burst into cheers as they saw their head girl catch the snitch in her hand. The match score was 220 to 50 with margin of 170 points. Out of bad judgment Derek missed one goal which decreased their margin by 10 but Demelza was more then happy for Derek.
“hey Sara I am getting cold, I will be waiting for you guys in the common room,” said Fiona.
“ok, I am heading towards the changing room,” said Sara
“Well done Ginny,” exclaimed Sara as she walked over the pitch and hugged her.
“Derek you were good too,” she said winking at him as she hugged Ginny and this time Derek smiled and was not caught off guard. They went to their changing room and Sara waited for them and later they left for the castle.
As soon as the portrait hole opened and Derek stepped in Fiona went and hugged him, “you were fantastic Rek!”
“woaw calm down Fio, do you want to run over me or something and wow I think Cormac did bring in some change in you, attending quidditch and all,” he said hugging back and she pulled from him and hit his arm. Sara and Ginny smiled while the others were chuckling.
“hey why are you shivering Fi?” he asked
“oh…nothing…”
“hold on” he touched her forehead, “man…you are burning hot” and Jimmy and Ritchie chuckled and Derek glared at them and they stopped.
“oh no I am alright”
“you are absolutely not” he snapped
“you are coming with me to Madam Pomfrey”
“Rek its ok I will go with Sara,” she said looking at her and Sara nodded, “you better take rest and eat something, you haven’t eaten anything in the morning”
“nah…my bed can wait and so can my stomach,” he said and pulled her through the portrait hole. Demelza rolled her eyes and said, “when will they see that they like each other and stop acting like they are just friends” and the beaters solemnly nodded in agreement
“don’t worry they will soon see that,” said Ginny
“yeah, they look cute together and the way they bicker with each other over Lavender and Cormac, its just amazing,” said Sara and Ginny giggled, “when did you become interested in small crushes and teenage love, Sara. You were always the one who would spend your time effectively in your studies rather then waste it in such matters”
“oh come on, though I may not waste my time thinking about such things I observe people and my surroundings and I can draw out conclusions about the obvious facts,” she said
“here goes our scholar and her wise words,” said Ritchie
have a nice day...:-)
