Mari wrapped her arms around herself, leaning against Cayden more as he apologized. She closed her eyes and sighed as she then sort of turned inwards toward him, as if she didn't want to look at anything except his robes. " I don't know why you're apologizing," She smiled a little and looked up at him. " It's weird. I don't know how I'm supposed to feel. I'm not jealous, I'm not angry, I'm not upset...but I'm not happy. I feel like...everything is going to be awkward and unpleasant for a long time." She paused a moment and bit at her thumbnail out of habit. " And that was the last thing I wanted. But I can't tell her not to, even though some would say it's against some weird invisible set of rules, to date one's best friend's ex-boyfriend. " She closed her eyes again and pinched the bridge of her nose. " I feel like a headache is coming on." She said in a slightly small and maybe sort of emotional voice. She couldn't help it, in some small way she did feel betrayed.
