"Plumbing leak in this old building? The only pipes are in the loo," Vindictus replied and saw that water was also under the far door that led to the bathroom. As he spoke the water appeared to rise another inch. "That's it. I'm waterproofing my stuff." He pulled out his wand and began placing the charm on all of his possessions, including the office furniture.
"Erm, one of your boxes is floating...."
Professor Kazimeriz rose an eyebrow and noticed his small crate of personal office effects floating like the Titanic on its way to the nearest iceberg. He walked over to it, his shoes making squelchy noises with each footfall into the shallow water.
"Mine's already watertight-- learned my lesson down in the dungeons on that -- so let me help you, Maximus. Important papers and photos first?" He drew his wand and began assisting Max packaging his things. Just in case. Meanwhile, he began to look around the floor for a source for the water.
"Merlin in swimfins, where the devil is this water even coming from?" he asked Max, annoyed.
