"Okay, erm, I remember that little blessing the professor taught us last term. Hammer in the North, East, and all that..."
"Let's do both of them...the one you just read aloud and the one from last term. Does it have that blessing in the book? If not, I remember it," Anna said. ""You think of the God you want to help you bless your Runes, first of all. Then, you say, 'Hammer in the North, East, South, West, above and below hallow and hold this holy-stead! Around me and in me Asgardhr and Midgardhr!' Then she taught us to write the rune on the paper, and lean over and kiss it." Like Cela, Anna let out a little giggle, too.
"Oh right! Good idea! Okay um... So..." Celandine carefully put her wand in front of her on her lap and eyed it thoughtfully. "So I do mine merkstave right?" She picked up a paint brush and carefully started to draw an upside down Fehu rune in red on the handle of her wand, taking a deep breath to intone;
"
fehu fehu fehu
f f f f f f f f f
fu fa fi fe fo
of ef if af uf
f f f f f f f f f"
She figured she should think about Freya for this part,
"
Hammer in the North, East,
South, West, above and below
hallow and hold this holy-stead!
Around me and in me
Asgardhr and Midgardhr!"
Thankful that it was quick-dry wand paint, Cela bent over and kissed the newly drawn rune and sat up, looking at it with interest. Was it just her or did it shimmer a bit?
