“Now, now, Fyo –” Xyntheshia Khan-Balouch began, trying to calm down her eldest child and only son.

“I want a bit of dragon for my birthday, and that’s final,” Fyo said stubbornly, crossing his arms against his chest. “I don’t care if it’s a nail or a scale or a tooth. I just want a bit of dragon, alright?”

“But, Fyo, dragon – err – bits are really hard to come by,” Xyntheshia said desperately. “How about I just get you a nice, new broom?”

“I want a bit of dragon,” Fyo replied, snappish and turning to leave.
