Caroline raised her eyebrow at Marcus' - no, her patient's - quip. Taking up a large jar of violently yellow paste, she put on a pair of gloves and perched on the edge of the bed. "This isn't that much better, but at least you don't have to drink it," she told him, "Did you think the hospital experience was pleasant? I don't do it for the glamour."

See? Not pleasant. No one likes to stay once they're here. Well, no one who is quite sane. "You're here overnight so I can make sure everything healed properly, your students will understand." And trust me, you aren't the only one who is unhappy about it.

Oh look, her patient was Marcus again.
